Grammar -- Their vs There vs They’re
“Their” is a possessive adjective and always modifies a noun.
“There” can be used either as a sentence starter or as an adverb.
“They’re” is a contraction of “they are.” As a contraction, it should not be used in formal history papers.
Possessive Adjective: The soldiers got into their Jeep.
Sentence Starter: There were two soldiers hiding in the ditch.
Adverb: Put the books there.
