Pg. 392—Yet the common cry on all sides was ‘no talking to gunman.’ The only acceptable political activity concerning the gunman was to denounce them, impression them, torture them and generally to devote most of ones waking hours to them, but never, never to negotiate with them. Not surprisingly, after a decade of this the problem had neither gone away nor been solved, but neither had there been any formal acknowledgement that they, or more importantly their cause, existed.
